Why Community Court?
Those who struggle financially and/or with addiction tend to have more recurring low level misdemeanor charges. Since incarceration does not usually help with these issues, many courts around the state have created therapeutic courts to assist with some of the challenges that lead to recidivism. Many resources for finances, housing, substance use disorder treatment and mental health resources will be presented to eligible participants.
